Anti-settling Agent For Zinc-rich Paint Coatings
experiment process
- Add HIFULL fumed silica into three zinc-rich paint by 0.1%, 0.5%, and 1% respectively
- Put into transparent glass bottles
- Leave them at temperature of 50°C for one week
- All the three samples show two layers
- The 0.1% sample is higher than the 0.5% and the 1% sample
- The 0.1% sample is more solid
- Hard to disperse
- And the 0.5% and 1% samples are softer
- Easy to disperse by stirring
Experiment Summary: Within a certain range, the more fumed silica is added, the better of anti-settling and overall performance of coatings.

Pyrohydrolysi & Trichloromethylsilane
Fumed silica is synthesized by the pyrohydrolysis of silicon tetrachloride or trichloromethylsilane in the flame of hydrogen and oxygen. Our main raw material is silicon tetrachloride, and the secondary is trichloromethylsilane.

When fumed silica is used as filler or additives, it helps in thickening, reinforcement, transparency, free-flow, thixotropic performance, dielectric properties, anti-settling, heat insulation, and anti-sagging. For example, for powder products, HIFULL fumed silica is used as an anti-caking agent; for liquid products, HIFULL fumed silica is used as an anti-settling agent or suspending agent.
