Dr. Yuelin Wang, Chairman of HIFULL Awarded ISO Excellence Award

From October 21 to 24, the annual meeting of ISO/TC256 (International Organization for Standardization Technical Committee 256) was held in Berlin, Germany. More than thirty experts from countries including China, Germany, and Japan participated both offline and online.

At this conference, Dr. Yuelin Wang, Chairman of Hubei Huifu Nanomaterial Co., Ltd., received the Excellence Award presented by the ISO Central Secretariat. This award recognized his outstanding contributions and exceptional achievements over twelve years within ISO/TC256.

This marks a new milestone following Dr. Wang’s receipt of the first-ever ISO/TC256 Excellence Award in 2017. He has now set another record by becoming the inaugural recipient of the Excellence Award bestowed directly by the ISO Central Secretariat within ISO/TC256.

Since 2013, Dr. Wang has been a registered expert at ISO/TC256/WG7 (Nanocharacteristics of Pigments and Extenders) and ISO/TC256/WG2 (Functional Pigments and Extenders). He led the development of three international standards: Nano-Calcium Carbonate for Sealants (ISO 18473-1:2015), Fumed Silica for Silicone Rubber (ISO 18473-3:2018), and Determination of Silanol Group Content on the Surface of Fumed Silica – Reaction Gas Chromatography Method (ISO 23157:2021).

He also contributed to developing Nano-Titanium Dioxide for Photocatalysis (ISO 18473-4:2022). For his significant accomplishments in international standardization, he was honored with the first-ever ISO/TC256 Excellence Award in 2017.

On November 30, 2018, Dr. Wang was appointed as the ISO/TC256 Promotion Officer for China. With support from the Secretariat of the China Coatings Industry Association, the official technical counterpart body for ISO/TC256 in China, he vigorously promoted standardization activities related to ISO/TC256 within China. He actively disseminated knowledge about international standardization, encouraging and assisting more enterprises and research institutes to participate.

During his tenure, enthusiasm among domestic organizations for international standardization increased significantly. Between 2019 and 2025, Chinese entities chaired or participated in completing seven international standards and submitted ten new proposals, securing a leading position within ISO/TC256 and substantially enhancing China’s global standing in this field.

Additionally, during this year’s annual meeting, two new international standard proposals put forward by Dr. Wang and his team successfully passed voting procedures and were officially approved for project initiation. This represents another major step forward for Hubei Huifu Nanomaterial Co., Ltd. in its work on international standardization.
